A Check-in

Hey Folks, Wow, it's been a minute! I believe I said in the first one that my March update was going to come soon. The more astute among you may note that it is no longer March, nor even May any longer. I have to apologize for that as I really did mean to keep updating the website, but I kept doing more things that felt to me like they should go into the update, and since that I was busy doing things instead of writing that update it never came. And you know, once you miss one it's easy to keep letting them go, like flossing. But, I keep wanting to write and I'm, you know, still paying for this website. So, here we go again. Some of these may -- I've learned my lesson, so I won't say will -- get their own posts later. Since I've last updated though, I've

• Been to two more National Parks (Mammoth Cave and Crater Lake)
• Been to Ireland Accepted a new position as a PhD Student at UW Madison
• Completed translating my first book (comic book, but still!) Been to SDCC
• Left my job (probably obvious, given the PhD)
• Moved into a new apartment with my Girlfriend
• Spent a week in Germany travelling around various cities here

As you can see, that's quite a bit. And, up until leaving my job, this was on top of very long work weeks getting everything ready to be handed off to the people replacing me. I also haven't read a ton or listened to much in the way of new music in this time since I've been so busy with travel and major life events. This should change though, as I'll be doing a lot of reading and writing for the PhD as well, so I imagine it will be easier to keep this up on the side. And, maybe, I'll actually start putting out the the more interesting essays that I had planned on writing for this website when I started it. We shall see on that point though...
